The Sanctuary

Established in 2021, The Center for Conscious Living & Dying acquired The Sanctuary in 2022. This extraordinary home resides on over six acres of sacred land, nestled among the majesty of the Swannanoa Valley mountains of Western North Carolina. Their mission is to facilitate the collective shift towards an integrated approach to death, dying and grief through education, community support and contemplation.

They have over 100 volunteers who are fully engaged in readying the home, developing their systems and creating an intentional culture built on respect, compassion and open-hearted, honest communication.

 The Sanctuary will be home to up to three residents at any given time, as well as host to workshops, trainings, retreats and music. The Sanctuary will formally open its doors in early 2023.
